		<description>Actually, scientists can test if animals reason, the key is to first have a common definition of what "reasoning" means and go from there. There was a time where animals were surgically cut and opened alive because medicine, back then, believed that animals, a dog, do not have any feelings, therefore they couldn't feel pain. Science basically tests theories until someone "proves" an accepted theory to be otherwise. Until someone proves otherwise, the theory lives on and is accepted as scientific fact. We can't know what an animal is thinking and there are no scientific tests for that, but we can create scientific tests to see, for instance, if a dog can reason, limited as that reasoning might be compared to humans.</description>
