The Freenet ProjectAdvertising on the web is ubiquitous nowadays, everyone has it. It helps to pay for the time spent providing great content, for hosting, domain registration, and other site-related costs, that’s a given. But what about sites so popular that revenue starts exceeding what’s actually needed?

Take a look at John Pozadzides’ blog, OneMansBlog.com. Commonly dugg and linked to, updated daily, and continually interesting, John’s at the top of the food chain with regards to online popularity as the search engines and social networks see things.

So what does he do with the money he makes from his site?

He gives it away.

Now, John’s had some great success on the web that I’m sure helps pay some bills, but to have a site like his blog that has the potential to make thousands in link sales alone, it’s great to see someone giving it to a great cause.

John’s revenue gets donated to the Freenet Project, which helps people around the world experience the Internet free of censorship and oppression.

Stop by and take a look – each click goes to a good cause!

Looks like donations to Freenet are popular with people named John! A John from the EFF recently donated something like 10k or so to the project.

It’s a great blog regardless of where the revenue gets donated. It’s good to know that people are putting their abilities to work for others. You don’t see much of that.
